The one-time activation fee is Growth: $199, Scale: $499, Enterprise: $799. Setup includes configuring your firm profile, team and operating rules. The fee is charged once at activation and is non-refundable. Contact the team to confirm the assistance included for your firm.

Yes. You can change your plan from billing; review the amount and effective terms before confirming. A downgrade reduces your features and limits immediately, while the lower recurring price applies at renewal without a mid-term refund. If the lower plan has fewer seats, you must choose which excess accounts to deactivate.

Self-serve subscriptions are paid through Stripe checkout, which shows the available payment methods. Contact support for billing questions or to discuss a separate billing arrangement.

GIO Credit Packs are one-time purchases that add AI credits to your firm balance. Purchased credits are tracked separately from your monthly allowance. Review the purchase terms in billing before checkout. Packs are available in three sizes: 500 credits ($250), 1,500 credits ($750), 5,000 credits ($2,500).

Configure your firm profile and branding, add preparer accounts, import supported records, and choose commission and bonus rules. Connect the integrations available on your plan. Your firm supplies the business decisions and reviews imported data; the onboarding workflow guides the configuration.

Admins can import clients and preparers from CSV or Excel using recognized columns and a preview. Scale and Enterprise also include ConnectHub imports with field mapping for supported record types. Commission structures, bonus rules and landing pages are configured in GoRefer. Review imported data before using it; preparing and filing returns stays in your tax software.

Yes, and starting with one workflow is the sensible way to do it. GoRefer sits alongside your tax software rather than in front of it — you keep preparing returns exactly where you do now. The lowest-disruption starting point is usually referral tracking or intake, because neither changes how a return gets prepared. Leave commissions until the off-season if your current process is working.

Export supported firm records and download documents before your access ends. The data export produces a ZIP of record CSVs; it is not a complete archive of document files. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and does not automatically delete every record. The setup fee is non-refundable. Setup time depends on your records, team and operating rules. Start with firm configuration and a referral or intake workflow, review the result, then add commissions and automation when the rules are ready. Guided onboarding follows that order; we do not promise a fixed completion time.

Yes. You can add seats at any time for $25 per seat per month (max 20 add-on seats). A seat can be an admin or a preparer. The cost is included in your existing subscription invoice — adding more later updates that same invoice with proration.

Once you reach your plan's monthly referral limit, you may not be able to add more referrals until the limit resets or you upgrade. Check your usage in the app and choose a plan with room for your expected monthly referrals.

The 7-day trial uses the Scale feature set and its usage limits. A card is required to start the trial, and nothing is charged that day. When the trial ends, the plan you chose begins and is billed to that card, with its one-time setup fee, unless you cancel before then. Your card is held by Stripe, our payment processor; GoRefer never stores card details.
